Antibodies against Kovid-19 in two out of five people of Srinagar, revealed in sero survey – News18 Hindi

Srinagar. Recently, in a survey of a government hospital, it has been found that 40 percent of the population of Srinagar district of Jammu and Kashmir has developed Kovid 19 antibodies. A new sero-spread study indicates that a large part of the population of the capital of Jammu and Kashmir has been infected with the corona virus. There have been about 85,000 cases of Kovid-19 in Jammu and Kashmir and 1455 people have died.

The results of a study conducted by the Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar, show that there has been an increase of 3.8 percent in sero-prevalence in the city compared to such a study done in June. In sero-survey, the blood serum of the person is examined, which shows the antibodies in the body against the infection.

Dr. Mohammad Salim Khan, head of community medicine at GMC Srinagar, said, “We did a sero-survey in Srinagar district, which showed that 40 per cent of the 2,400 people were not confirmed infected but developed antibodies. Gone. Khan told that samples were taken randomly from 20 clusters of Srinagar. It has also been found that antibodies are more in women than in men. He said, ‘This trend is encouraging, but it is not as if we can say that Kovid-19 can be defeated if antibodies develop in the population at a certain level.’

There have been 348 deaths in Srinagar district so far

Srinagar is the worst affected district of Jammu and Kashmir. About 19000 people have been infected here and 348 people have died. In the district 1651 patients are getting their treatment while in other districts 19 5300 infected are getting their treatment. Khan said that a large-scale sero survey is being conducted in the other nine districts of the Kashmir Valley and 400 samples have been taken from each district. He told that their result is expected to be released in two weeks.
