CDS Gen Bipin Rawat’s Chopper Crashes In TN. Know Who Were The Others On Board


New Delhi: An Indian Air Force (IAF) Mi-17V5 helicopter with Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat on board met with an accident in the Nilgiris near Coonoor in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, the IAF said.

Quoting official sources, PTI reported that all the injured people on board the chopper have been evacuated from the spot of the accident.

A court of inquiry has been ordered into the accident, the IAF said.

CDS Rawat was on his way to the Defense Staff College in Wellington.

The military chopper crashed somewhere between Coimbatore and Sulur in Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, there were at least nine people on board the helicopter.

The CM also spoke to Coonoor District Magistrate Amrith and instructed him to speed up rescue operation, sources said.
