Cyclone Jawad in Digha: The deep depression created near the Andaman Islands has already turned into a cyclone Javad.

It is currently located in the West-Central Bay of Bengal. The Alipore Meteorological Department said so on Friday. It was further informed on behalf of Hawa Office that Jawad could move towards Bengal by touching Puri.

The meteorological department said that Jawad could reach near the coasts of northern Andhra Pradesh and southern Orissa by Saturday morning. After that it will turn a little further north and northeast and move along the Orissa coast and reach the Puri coast on Sunday 5th December at noon.

The weather office has not yet confirmed exactly where and when Jawad will land. The Alipore Meteorological Department has given a forecast till Sunday. After that, although the direction of Jawad was towards the coast of Bengal, the meteorologists could not give any clear information yet. The air office is in a dilemma as to whether Javad will hit the ground at all or lose his strength and disappear into the sea.

According to the meteorological department, winds of 45-65 kmph could blow in the coastal areas from Saturday morning. In the evening it can increase to 60 kilometers per hour.

According to the weather office, heavy to very heavy rains with thunderstorms are likely on December 5 in East Midnapore, West Midnapore, two 24 Parganas, Jhargram, Kolkata, Howrah and Hughli. Besides, there will be heavy rains in Purulia, Bankura, Hughli, Nadia, Birbhum, Murshidabad, East Burdwan and some parts of West Burdwan. Heavy rains are also expected in two 24 parganas, Murshidabad and Nadia on Tuesday.
