New Delhi: A day after Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged that the Instagram accounts of her children were hacked by the Central government, sources close to the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology have refuted the claims.

The statement by sources in the ministry comes after it reported by news agency IANS that the government took a suo motu cognizance of Priyanka Gandhi’s was and ordered a probe.
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology approached Instagram which informed it that the allegation made by the Congress UP in-charge is false and no complaint has been lodged from the Gandhi family or on behalf of anyone so far.
Reportedly, the government has also asked the Computer Emergency Response Team to investigate the matter.
On December 21, Priyanka Gandhi had accused the government of hacking the Instagram accounts of her children. After that, her husband Robert Vadra also threatened legal action in the matter.
“Leave phone tapping Instagram account of my children have also been hacked,” Priyanka told reporters when asked about phone tapping of Opposition leaders by the government.

“We have the proof of what we are saying. We will definitely take recourse to the law. We believe in the justice system. The way this government is behaving, the only legal remedy can stop it. Also, this should not happen to children, ” Robert Vadra told IANS.
