The BJP announced this on its official Twitter handle on Monday. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with BJP workers across the country through NaMo App (Audio) on January 25 at 11 AM,” the tweet said.

It is to be known that in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa assembly elections are being held in Manipur. While Uttar Pradesh will go to polls in seven phases, Manipur will go to polls in two phases and Uttarakhand, Goa and Punjab will go to polls in one phase. The Prime Minister had recently interacted with the workers of his parliamentary constituency Varanasi through the NaMo app. This was Modi’s first political engagement with party workers after the Election Commission announced the schedule for the assembly elections.

Announcing the assembly elections, the Election Commission has banned public meetings and road shows till January 31 in view of the increasing cases of Kovid-19. Significantly, during the announcement of the election program of the five states on January 9, till January 15, there was a complete ban on rallies, street meetings, pad yatras, cycle rallies. After review on January 15, the Commission kept this restriction in force, but giving some relief to the political parties, it was allowed to hold meetings in a closed room with a maximum of 300 people or 50 percent of the capacity of the room. After this the ban was implemented till 31 January.
