The temperature is likely to drop by 2-3 C° in interior districts and western ghats while in coastal regions the mercury is likely to dip 1-2 C°.

On Monday, the mercury dropped 0.2 C° and 0.6 C° in Chennai’s Nungambakkam.

The reason for the weather change, the weather bloggers say is due to the dry weather persisting over South India.

An independent weather blogger in the name Chennai Rains said, “Parts of North Tamil Nadu likely to see night-time temperatures stay 3/4°C below normal conditions while #Chennai & suburbs are likely to see min. temperatures stay below 20°C over most parts for the next couple of days as Dry Weather persists over S. India.”

Another weather blogger Pradeep John said, “Cold Nights to continue in North Interior TN, South & Interior Karnataka, and the hill-station of TN, Kerala, and Vizag hill regions of AP.”
