All who are present here today on the happy occasion of Republic Day, good morning. Republic day is observed every year on 26 January. This year, India will be celebrating its 72nd Republic Day. Republic Day is celebrated to commemorate the historic moment in which our nation became an independent republic. We all know that India gained independence on August 15, 1947. The country did not have its own constitution. Instead, it was governed under the British laws. After many discussions and amendments, a committee headed Dr. B.R Ambedkar presented a draft constitution for India. It was approved on 26 November 1949, and became effective on 26 January 1950.
All who are present at this auspicious occasion, good morning. We are all here today to celebrate the 72nd Republic Day of our country. It is an honor and a privilege to deliver a speech on republic Day. The Republic Day is celebrated each year on 26 January. It has an important place in Indian history. The celebration of the nation’s anniversary is marked with joy, happiness and pride. We all know that the Indian constitution was adopted on 26 January 1950.
